Hi! I'm Sitara Arun--a Malayalee-American artist and writer based in Reno, Nevada.

I became a little obsessed with pirates after reading Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island in the seventh grade. Something about giving up societal norms to discover new lands, find treasure, and drink a lot of rum really stirred my soul.

Two decades later, I still dreams of adventure on the high seas. However, trading the burdens of twenty-first century life for a tri-cornered hat has yet to become a feasible option. "Yet" being the key word there.
